Good morning! I'm so impressed with this software...and am trying it for the first time on a corrupt .VOB file created my Sony Handycam (on one of the miniDVD discs). The file is rather large, 1,048,544 KB. The program has been running for almost two days on this file...but, it appears to be working and has not stalled. I've attached a screen shot of the main console so you can see the statistics thus far. I used the default settings to scan.

I just wanted confirmation that I was correct in being reluctant to stop/restart the program. Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!!!
Bryan

Hi there.. you image upload didnt work for some reason.. but nevermind...

You can actaully cancel the scan and start it again with the "Resume partial files" option and it will continue where it left off.. The other option is just to move the slider from "best data recovery" to "Fastest data recovery"... it will recover quicker but the file may have more corruption in it... With VOB files a little bit of corruption isnt a major issue, you just get graphics glitches now and then .. depending what it is you could possibly just edit them out!

Let me know how you go..

Cheers

Hello!!

Well...I cancelled the scan and checked Resume Partial Files. And, moved the best data recovery slider to the middle of the two options. But...now the program won't startup copying again. When I hit the copy button I get the message that's attached as page two...for some reason I'm being denied access to that particular file. I closed the program and attempted to scan a second file on the disc...and it worked fine. Not sure what's going on.

Thx!!!

OK...I changed where to copy the new file to and it worked. By the way, I tried to copy the file to my harddrive and I got a cyclic redundancy error. Thx!!!

Great news!

Your awesome software has restored two versions of the video. This is truly amazing. Without it, I'd never have seen these videos. Thanks so much.
