I've just used diskwipe on a 400gb external usb hd.
Now, to use it in windows (xp-vista-win7) enviorments, do you suggest to format it in FAT32 or NTFS?
Can I use the standard windwows tool or do you recommend another one?
Many thanks,

I would normally suggest that unless your planning on using the drive on older or non windows machines in which case i would say FAT32 as its more widely read and you wont need file system explorers/modules installed.

After completing this process the drive no longer appears visible in Windows Explorer in Windows 7. However, the drive does appear visible in DiskWipe. I can also hear the telltale Windows tone whenever I unplug the drive or plug it back in to a USB port.
Ultimately I wanted to format and sell this drive but I can't find it in Windows. What should I try next? |
