It'd be nice to be able to tell Raw Copy where to start and end on a drive & for that to work when going from front to back & back to front.

Another nice feature would be logging, such as you can see in GNU ddrescue.

Also, command line options would be a plus. (You mentioned possibly incorporating this in your Dec 2008 post http://forums.roadkil.net/forums.php?ID=225)

As a follow-up to your post in May 2009, http://forums.roadkil.net/forums.php?ID=268, were you able to add anything to Raw Copy to show exactly what it's doing?

I was only able to see current speed, percent complete & estimate time to completion. When Raw Copy stalled, see post http://forums.roadkil.net/forums.php?ID=561, it didn't give any indication of what it was doing. It just showed an ever-decreasing average copy speed, a percent complete that didn't change & an ever-increasing time to completion.

Thanks!

Your logging ideas are good - it really does need some more information added. I might add an advanced tab and a logging tab in the next release where you can see what its doing, the errors its found etc. Ill make it so you can also set a sector range for the transfer.

Cheers!
