I'd be able to recover files from an ISO file, even when the ISO is damaged and the various tools available are NOT able to mount it as virtual drive; I mean the program should scna the whole ISO, searching for directories and files, trying to recognize them by header and, finally, saving all the recovered stuff :)

Yes please for windows and also more so for dos imaging and file recovery. Your post 11 September 2009 does this mean you have scrapped any all plans for this ?

Think of ISOPuzzle but able to be used in dos. Which also has the ability to fill missing data gaps when decide to switch drives attempt to recover all data. ISOPuzzle doesn't go far enough though it is good could be better. But progress has stalled and no updates for a long time. Do make it so user doesn't get asked to retry x sector over and over. Make it copy forever without asking, user can control by pause and exit when needing to. Ok you have a look a ISOPuzzle and build on that in a different design. Though I know will be different with more options.

Allow imaging even if windows cannot see the drive at all or complains about it when inserted. Image total disk whatever windows thinks of it.

Having an image then allows for recovery of files or burned to another disc.

ISOPuzzle uses a .flg file to keep track of progress. You see when have a look at it.

If you want files from optical disc forget about ISOBuster that software is rubbish for file recovery. Yes do try ISOPuzzle because that is you best chance at getting an image.

Though I have a stack of discs all which ISOPuzzle will not image or image enough for use. So ISOPuzzle is still not good enough. Maybe Roadkil tool will be the best or at least we hope it will be :)
