Let's say I wanna recover a file from a folder in my thumbdrive G:\ can I do it? Can I only recover files from G:\ and not from something like G:\foldername?

The undelete program should scan the entire disk and list all the files in any directory.. IF its not listing files in g:\foldername for example its because the program was unable to find the folder.

In the field RECOVER TO how much of the path needs to be entered, especially if you just want to put the files back to their original locations?

This being the first time to use UNDELETE, the version I ran said it would only recover the first xxxx number of bytes of each file, and offered an option to logon and register/purchase. Having chosen that option, I downloaded the new version, ran it; and, now I no longer see the same files I am trying to UNDELETE...I really need those files, am I SOL?

OMG...I don't deserve this "bad karma"!!! I'm still trying to UNDELETE the same files. Now I have recvd that lovely "Undelete.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.", "send error report (to microsoft)?"...urggggggg. Here is a copy of the contents of the ERROR REPORT:

I don't see the report as part of my posting so I will upload the error report.

HI there.. sorry for my late reply - ive been flooded with so many emails lately its been impossible to keep up!

Not sure why you are getting these erorrs at all. Im not sure either why your system isnt able to see the same files. Perhaps if your system is being problematic try something like File Restore Professional from www.pcrecovery.com
