I have a large database file (>70GB) that is on a disk with bad blocks. I've got most of the data out of the database using the database tools itself, but can't move records that fall on the bad blocks.
I'm using Unstoppable Copier, but becuase of the size of the database and the time it's taking to copy, I can only copy during the evenings, and have to stop the copy during the day when the file is still in use (I know, I know, that's bad!).
So although I've got resume enabled and the copy picks up where it left off, there's the possibility that data earlier in the file (that's already been copied) will have been changed and no longer match. Is there any facility to enable an rsync-like block comparison when resuming, so that changed blocks from already copied sections of the file are recopied and integrated before it continues with resuming the rest of the copy?
If not, would it make an interesting feature request?
