Its been about 36 hours. I hear the drive clicking a bit every 5 seconds or so and then silence and then repeat again. I don't know if it is making any progress or is "stuck". How long should I wait or is there a better way of doing this than using RawCopy? Thanks! |

Unfortunately depending how bad the drive is this can take a LONG time. Perhaps you should try my Unstoppable Copier and just copy off the files rather than copy the entire disk. It may be quicker as RawCopy will also copy blank parts of the disk which isnt really necessary in most instances!

I ran RawCopy last night, but my drive made the same clicking noise that you are describing. Nervous, I stopped the process, but I am still able to mount the disk, except it stills show up as RAW. I had 50 read-errors after completing 5% of 465Gb; is this excessive?

I think if its really that far gone you might need to use something like FileRestore Pro from www.pcrecovery.com... it can get your info back from RAW drives.. im sure there are other ones out there but thats the program ive used myself with great success!
