email sent before I found the Forum (I know - RTFM :)

just found your site and am starting to explore your software. 1st of the block id DskSpeed. I want to test SD card for performance simply because in a camera the faster write the better. the current display is very informative on read but not write.

As sequential write really matters in a camera, could you consider adding write stats as well? I would suggest also that the write filesize could be specified so the user could set a size similar to the file size of the camera.

This would be a great addition for me 'cos you will be surprised to know how much manufacturers of SD (and USB sticks) LIE about the performance :)

For USB sticks it would be very useful also for selecting the best for FeadyBoost on Vista.

ps thanks a bunch for making your stuff available for enthusiasts

I will definately be putting out a version of disk speed with write performance at some stage. Ideally the write test would need to be performed on an empty drive to ensure that the information is accurate and not swayed by the operating system/file caching/fragmentation etc. But since very few people will want to test an unformatted drive or a drive where the data can be lost ill have to do it on a file based method. Once ive worked out the best way to do this ill put out a program update!

Cheers :)
