Hello,

I had a failing harddrive so I used unstoppable copier to get all the files from the HD to a usb thumbdrive. So far so good.

I copied all the files to a new harddrive on a new computer with no errors. I copied using normal drag and drop method in windows. However, now im trying to copy the files from the new computer to another external location with scheduled backups and I get errors like "file does not exist or cant be read", however I can browse to the file and view it?

Anyone have any idea of what this is or how to fix it?

wow.. not really sure what would be causing that issue. The only thing i can think of is your logged in with admin rights but the windows UAC security is stopping the app from running in admin mode to access the files.. Try right clicking on it and choosing "run as administrator"

Hi Roadkil,

Thanks for the reply. I think you got it wrong. Files went like this..

"Broken harddrive" > unstoppable > USB-stick > normal drag and drop to new computer

And now Im trying to do a normal drag and drop from new computer to external harddrive, so unstoppable copier is no longer in use. But I figured I would be able to copy the files again by drag and drop since I did that before?

I hope you understand what I mean =)

There really shouldnt be any issues doing what you want! Very odd - on the new computer just make sure the security on the files is set so the user "Everyone" has all access. The only thing that would make sense here is still a permissions issue. If the backup is running as a system process that doesnt have access to the files it will fail. IF its not a permissions problem unfortauntley i dont have a solution for this one!

Cheers!
