Hi Roadkil

I have quick questions about your RawCopy program.

I am planning to use it to perform a 'sector by sector' image of a drive that suddenly decided to change its status from NTFS to RAW.

Firstly, am I correct in assuming that the program will do this for me?

From the documentation:

"The program has a built in data recovery function which will attempt to recover data from bad sectors to ensure all the available data is restored from the drive."

The reason I am doing the complete image is so that I have an original copy of the RAW volume before performing a data recovery operation.

Which leads me to my second question; will RawCopy perform its data recovery in 'read-only' mode or will its attempts possibly overwrite data on the disk being copied from?

I want to end by saying that I really appreciate your work; I found your site when I was looking for an alternative to shelling out $$$$$$$$$ for Acronis/Ghost.

Hi there... sorry for the very late reply! Rawcopy will copy as you need, it opens the source disk in read only mode and wont change any of hte data it contains. So basically its like any other disk imaging program but it doesnt get stuck when it runs into an disk error! :)
