A fried controller is a bit of a BIG problem! For this one i think your best option is to get another hard disk of the same brand/model, move it across, transfer the data off and then but the board back on the other drive. Its a risky job though and can result in 2 dead hard disks instead of one!

UNfortunately if its truly dead no software will save you!

Cheers!

I've swapped controllers on disks with fried electronics before and been successful. It is certainly risky, but the best advice I can give is try to use another disk which has the same firmware on it, and is manufactured around the same time. Differences in the circuit board are the main reason this method fails, so the closer the hardware matches, the more likely it will work - good luck :)
