many thanks you for your useful tool!
But for me (probably also for many others) there are two main issues.
- I suppose the first is quite rarely, but I want to mention it, because for me it was my main reason to use the tool:
I wanted to copy a recovered hdd (restored from a unhealthy to a healthy drive by some recovery tools); some (not many) paths were even longer than the ntfs allowed 260 chars (was possible due the recovery software). But those type of to-long-filename-files wasn't recognized or noticed by Unstoppable Copier at all. It only said something like 'all files are copied'. I verified the result with PureSync (a freeware file and directory synchronizer) and it detects a lot of stuff in the too long named directories.
I only want to mention this problem, because Unstoppable Copier wants also to be a recovery software - and I think, this is also a case, which it should able to handle.
- Ok, the second issue is a bit annoying for me, because it concerns the integrity of my os (windows 7 ultimate academic license): As also some other users here have reported, after removing the software it leaves a "Unstopcp" for the right mouse click context menu for files and directories. I could get rid of it by manipulating my registry, but my problem is, that than, in most of the cases, some other context menu entries get weird and aren't operable anymore. So after that I better left the context menu entries untouched (by restoring my previous settings), but the context menu entry is also left there. - Now the simple question: How can I remove that context menu entry without hurting my W7-OS with false registry values or gaps?
You announced for some days or weeks that you will offer a solution soon - is it still in progress? At what time can we expect an solution?
1000 thanks in advance for your efforts!
Sincerely,
Nick Wright |
