milltown 18 February 2009 | Help Requests | Suggestions for OS9 (not mac) backup please. Firstly kudos for the time and effort put in to your site and your software!
I have a machine running OS9 (not the mac one) that I need to keep a working backup of, under Windows as there is no interface. Looking into raw disk image s/w led me to your site. It looks like Raw Copy will let me do just that, copy the working drive onto a spare that can then be stored.
I was wondering though (getting greedy/lazy here!) if by any chance Disk Image would do a similar job but allow me to store a soft copy of my backup, rather than need a physical drive for each copy. I know the site lists it as supporting Windows only. Is that the environment the program runs in, or does it only work on FATxx and NTFS file systems? Or both? |

Roadkil 24 January 2009 | Help Requests | What Would I Use Perhaps download a bootable disk image from www.bootdisk.com and image a floppy etc. These images ususally have CD drivers so you can access your drive in DOS mode then run the setup/fix.
Another option is get FreeDOS from www.freedos.org and install that on a USB stick etc and boot the system up with it to do your repairs..
Cheers! |
