Spytalk 23 June 2009 | Feature Requests | Some suggestions I would like to suggest a feature that might be called something like \"Skip N bytes after an error occurs\" - don\'t know if there\'s a setting for that, don\'t know if it\'s possible, didn\'t see one, but on really messed up large files, this could help at least reach the end - also there\'s a unix tool out there somewhere that can copy a bad file from BOTH directions ie. copy from end to beginning, would that be possible too? Thanks.

Dennibobs 3 June 2009 | Help Requests | boot problem The DOS program fdisk has an option to write a standard master boot record. If you create a boot floppy (or usb) with fdisk on it:-
run \'fdisk /mbr\'
Note quote from Microsoft:-
This program is written to the disk by the fdisk /mbr command and is usually called the master boot record. During typical operation, Fdisk writes this program to the disk only if there is no master boot record.
NOTE: The fdisk /mbr command only re-writes the MBR on the system drive (DISK-0) using BIOS calls. You cannot specify any other drive for the fdisk /mbr command to operate on other than DISK-0
This might fix your problem

Spark 29 May 2009 | Help Requests | Unstoppable Copier Unsure if this is a feature request or a request for info on what I have set incorrectly. Just tried this application and it did copy across the contents of one drive to another. Which is great. However it says it skipped 81 files. Ah but no matter, I had the sense to log the process into a file so it\'ll tell me there what was amiss. Except it seems to have logged all the successful copies, which is of moderate importance I suppose, but not a sign of the problem files it skipped, which of course is of utmost importance. Where do I find information on the failures so I can go investigate? I can\'t trust and delete the original if I have doubts about the copy. As an aside, is there somewhere that explains why some files names are shown in rainbow background whilst others are in black? What should I make of that? Thanks. |
